McGregor, British Columbia : ウィキペディア英語版 | McGregor, British Columbia McGregor is a community located between Sinclair Mills and Upper Fraser on the north bank of the Fraser River in Central British Columbia. It was established as a post office under the name Dewey on 1 February 1915. Confusion between "Dewey" and "Dewdney" led to the name being changed to "Cornel Mills" on 2 July 1956 at the request of the residents. It was renamed again to "McGregor" on 11 April 1966. The post office closed 8 October 1970. McGregor, as well as the McGregor River, were named after Captain James Herrick McGregor, a Canadian soldier killed in action in World War I, who, prior to enlisting, had done much of the exploration and survey work in the area around the townsite. VIA rail's Jasper – Prince Rupert train calls at the McGregor railway station. ==References==
